If you have a passion for traveling then having a holiday at any Cameron Highlands accommodation is one of the best decisions you will ever make as a tourist. Located 300 km from Kuala Lumpur and 1,500 m above sea level, Cameron Highlands boasts a climate that paved the way for beautiful natural attractions. In fact, the British called it “Little England”.

Despite the nickname, there are at least 7 big things waiting for you here in Cameron Highlands:

1. First up, the hills is home to the largest tea plantation in Southeast Asia. There's no secret that the English love their tea and that's probably why they made the area home for many years. In addition, the views from here is simply fantastic especially during sunrise.

2. Sunsets here at not bad either, espeically from Gunung Brinchang, the highest peak of Cameron Highlands at 2,032 m. Get your phones and cameras ready because the skies here during sundown is jaw-dropping glorious.

3. If you think that's amazing, then wait till you see the Mossy Forest. This place is like something straight out of a fantasy-adventure motion picture or even better. The plants and trees here strip a lot of moisture from the clouds that explains their mossy or cloudy appearance.

4. Sometimes you see something and you have to do a double-take because it's hard wrap your head around it. One of these things is the rafflesia or some call the biggest flower on Earth. Flowers, now that's another thing Brits love. Although this one looks scary, smells bad, and won't be an appropriate gift to your girlfriend on Valentines' Day.

5. Did you know that Cameron Highlands is also the leading producer of flowers in Malaysia? Go on a stroll with your significant other and feast on the sight of extraordinary multi-hued gardens reminiscent of paintings done by Chagall.

6. Strawberry farms are also a big hit here. Due to the cool climate, the highlands make the perfect area for planting strawberries. Places like the Kok Lim Strawberry Farm even lets guests harvest their own batch of berries.

7. The best resorts in Pahang are also found in Cameron Highlands because tourism is, and has always been, a booming industry. Just to mention a few, there's Cameron Highlands Resort, Strawberry Park Resort, and Century Pines Resort. The latter is a Tudor-inspired property that offers luxury suites with balconies, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, double beds, mini-bar, safe, telephone, and mini-refrigerator. It also has various conference rooms, a bar, gym, restaurant, sauna, spa, steam room, and gift shops. Choosing an accommodation in Cameron Highlands in Pahang, Malaysia is easy because all of them are good. This former British military station is one of the most charming tourist destinations in the country, and travelers from all over visit every year to enjoy its cool weather and captivating sights. Although it would be nice to have a Tudor-inspired Pahang resort with deluxe suites like at Century Pines Resort to call home for a few days, don't make the mistake of spending all your time indoors. There are many interesting sites and things in this place, which are also known as Little England for you to discover. Here are some of them:

Jim Thompson, the famed pioneer of Thailand's silk industry, who went missing on March 26, 1967 in Cameron Highlands. It is said that after attending mass at the nearby All Souls' Church, he left Moonlight Cottage for a walk and never returned. This incident launched the largest manhunt the country has ever known. Up to 400 policemen, soldiers, aboriginal trackers, helicopters, and even a psychic investigator were tasked to try and find him but to no avail. Some believe he was abducted by Chinese communist guerrillas, eaten by a tiger, assassinated by the CIA, faked his own death in order to start a new life, or simply just got lost in the jungle.

Today, visitors can stay in a room in the actual cottage Thompson where he was last seen. Meanwhile, the Cameron Highlands Resort has its own Jim Thompson Mystery Trail and hosts events in which guests are encouraged to dress up in 1960's attire and try to solve the disappearance. Then there's Strawberry Park Resort that went as far as naming a burger recipe after him as a kind of tribute.

Cameron Highlands' second biggest town, Brinchang, is home to butterfly gardens and strawberry farms. Thanks to the area's elevation, it's one of the few places in the country where the fruit can be grown. The biggest plantation is the Kok Lim Strawberry Farm and it lets visitors harvest their own batch of berries.

Not far from here is the popular Time Tunnel and its gallery of oddities and rarities collected by history junkie See Kok Shan. The museum is full of items and images from past decades and nostalgic tourists come here to check out stuff that remind them of their childhood. Time Tunnel is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM if you would love to have a quick trip down memory lane.
